The items included 100 pieces of dual desks, an oven, 30 hand sewing machines, a cylinder, and three playground equipment.

The donation was made as part of activities marking the company’s first anniversary after its transition from Shell Ghana Limited.

The Managing Director of VEGH, Mr Fred Osoro, observed that  education was paramount for national development, and for that reason, there was the need to provide the necessary facilities to support schools.

He said the organisation had also distributed 1,500 solar lamps to schools in the rural areas to promote quality education.

Mr Osoro, therefore, entreated parents to ensure that their children at least obtain a basic education certificate to reduce the unemployment canker.

The Deputy Minister of Local Government and Rural Development,  Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, spoke about the importance of education and said the best parents could do for their children was to invest in their education.

He lauded the initiative by the VEGH and appealed to traditional leaders and philanthropists to contribute their quota to the proper growth and development of children.
