UPSA cuts sod for GH¢77m auditorium project

The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) is to construct a GH¢77 million ultra-modern auditorium.

The 3,000-seater capacity building will also have a two-level underground car park, conference facilities and offices for seminars and training programmes as well as a students’ centre.

A sod-cutting has subsequently been done for the project which is due for completion in 30 months. 

Present at the ceremony were the Vice Chancellor of UPSA, Professor Joshua Alabi, the Chairman of Top International Engineering Ghana Limited, Mr Duan Dezhl, and the Group Head, Business Banking, of Access Bank, Mr Kwabena Appiah Gyimah.

At the ceremony in Accra, Prof. Alabi said the commemorative event marked the construction of another massive development project at UPSA.

He said the auditorium would be beneficial to both the academic community and the general public and urged the contractor to expedite work on the project to ensure its timely completion.

Responding to the Vice Chancellor, Mr Dezhl assured the university that the project would be handed over by the scheduled date.
