Addressing the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Ernest Aryeetey, said the school was expanding its facilities to absorb the huge demand for business education, hence the need to build a new structure.

He said the building was structured to accommodate the various needs of the students, as most of the graduate students were workers from different backgrounds.

The Business School, he said, served as a link between the university and the corporate world, and appealed to the government to restructure the mortgage market to make it easy for universities to secure loans for the completion of their ongoing projects.

He encouraged the school to regularly revamp its programmes and give students the opportunity to contribute to development at the national and international level.

“I implore the management of the school to develop a maintenance culture that will ensure the proper maintenance of the facility. In these ways, we can be rest assured that decades from now, we will still want to associate ourselves with UGBS,” he added.

The Dean of the Business School, Professor Kwame Domfeh, stated that building the facility was crucial to the training programmes of the school.

He said they had plans to give scholarship to students in need of financial assistance.

He also urged alumni of the school to continue to support the development of the school.

The Chief Executive officer of Cal Bank, Mr Frank Adu Junior, who was the guest of honour at the function, challenged lecturers and professors to contribute towards solving the economic problems of the country.
