The course will give prospective students the theoretical knowledge and practical skills they need to become leaders in the distance education enterprise within the educational, business, governmental and non-public organisations.

The Director, Institute of Continuing and Distance Education (ICDE), University of Ghana (UG), Professor Yaw Oheneba-Sakyi, made this known to the Daily Graphic at the end of this year’s New Year School, last Thursday in Accra.

He said the course would in the main, target the education of leaders and managers of distance education and e-learning to empower them in the field of distance education delivery and management.

“The programme is meant to develop the needed human resource in the field of distance education delivery and management, following the growing trend of distance education as an alternative means of attaining tertiary education in the country,” he added.
