UniBank donates to Cape Coast Polytechnic

Unibank has presented a 30-seater Coaster bus, worth US$82,000, to the Cape Coast Polytechnic to meet the polytechnic’s transportation needs and assist in the operations of the institution.

The Head of Business Execution at UniBank, Mr Richard Anane, stated that the bank prioritised education, indicating that it was prepared to partner the institution which was committed to training the country’s skilled technical manpower, to achieve its goals.

 

Support for other institutions

He said the bank had over the past years supported institutions such as the Universityo f Cape Coast (UCC), the University of Education Winneba (UEW), the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), variously to enhance teaching and learning.

He said the bank recently presented a 500Kv generating set to UCC, cash to KNUST and a double-decker pickup to UEW.

He gave an assurance that the bank would continue to support education to help the institutions train the needed manpower for development, and called on the corporate world to support educational institutions to produce the requisite manpower needed for sustained growth.

 Appreciation

A member of the Cape Coast Polytechnic Board, Mrs Aquline Barton Odro, received the keys to the bus and thanked the bank for the gesture.

The Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr Lawrence Atepor, said the bus would support students and lecturers on attachment and on educational and field trips, and pledged that the polytechnic would ensure that the bus was well maintained.
