UFP national chairman supports Kunsu D/A Basic School

Founder and National Chairman of the United Front Party (UFP), Nana Dr Agyenim Boateng, has provided resources for the painting and renovation of the Kunsu District Assembly (D/A) Primary and Junior High School (JHS) “A.

”Popularly known as ‘Gyataba’, Mr Boateng’s support followed an appeal from the school authorities. That was after the UFP had opened its Ahafo Ano South-West Constituency office at Kunsu, near Mankranso, in the Ashanti Region.

Classroom blocks of both the primary and JHS had been in a deplorable state for the past 20 years until the support from its benefactor. 

Inaugural ceremony

At a ceremony to inaugurate the renovated classroom blocks, Nana Boateng said it was dear to his heart to always support the needy.

He said he was motivated to support the school, having taken a cue from the contributions of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to support quality and affordable education in the Ashanti Region and even beyond.

He recalled that when he was approached for help by authorities of the school following the opening of his constituency office at the town, he had no option but to support them.

He said the renovation and painting of the school building was a demonstration of the UFP’s commitment towards the advancement of education in the country.

He also advised the school authorities to properly maintain the classroom blocks and pledged his party’s continuous support.

Gratitude

The Kunsu Unit Committee Chairman, Nana Abradu Obenhene, who stood in for the Kunsu town and the school, expressed gratitude to Nana Boateng and his party for the help.

He said the renovation and painting works had given the school a facelift but added that there were a few infrastructure challenges which needed to be addressed. 

He also called on other political parties and individuals to support the school.

UFP Parliamentary Candidate

In a related development, the Parliamentary Candidate of the UFP for Ahafo Ano South-West, Mr Philemon Oppong, popularly known as Rastaman, organised an age-group gala football competition for the area which coincided with the inaugural ceremony of the renovation.

The youth have formed soccer teams from Kunsu, Mankranso, Beposo, Odoyefe and Afrasene.
