UCC, Ghana Baptist University College sign MoU

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ghana Baptist University College (GBUC) in Kumasi to strengthen the relationship between the two institutions.

Besides, the MoU is to give the two institutions an open space for negotiations and strategies for the development of quality education at the tertiary level.

 

It is a requirement by the National Accreditation Board (NAB), Ghana, that a private university that has not gained autonomy be mentored by a public university.

The Vice Chancellor (VC) of UCC, Professor Domwin Dabire Kuupole, led a delegation from the university that included the Deputy Registrar, Academic Affairs, Mr Jeff Teye Onyame; Chairman of the Affiliation Committee, Prof. A.B. Ntreh, and Head of Affiliation Affairs, Mr Justice A.K. Boateng) to sign the MoU.

The UCC delegation was received by the President of the GBUC, Rev. Dr Kojo Osei-Wusuh; the Registrar, Rev. Dr Nyarko Ayim-Amanfo; the Dean of Schools and other senior staff members of the GBUC.

Prof. Kuupole described the partnership with the GBUC as pertinent for academic development and added that the MoU would serve as a preparatory stage for the UCC to be in charge of certification and supervision of academic work at the GBUC.

He also advised students to continue to enrol on different programmes of the two universities.

The President of GBUC, Rev. Dr Osei-Wusuh, called on the staff of GBUC for their co-operation and expressed the hope that the MoU would benefit both institutions.
