The centre achieved 45 female to 55 per cent male parity in its 2013 admissions. From 36 female to 64 male per cent in 2009, the centre encouraged and gave more women access to higher education.

Speaking in an interview, the Director of the centre, Professor George K. T. Oduro, said the centre acknowledged the importance of an educated female population to the development of every nation. However, he said the social responsibilities of childbearing and family upkeep placed more strain on women’s desires and goals to pursue higher education. Often, these women abandoned their ambitions for the sake of their families.

Prof. Oduro noted that the CCE’s mandate was to ensure that those who, otherwise, would not have pursued higher education had access to it. He also said the centre would establish crèches on their various campuses to provide nursing mothers who were students with a conducive environment to keep their children while they were at lectures.

Additionally, he said the well-being of all students was of concern to the centre and the management,  and added that the university would promote quality teaching and learning.
