Interaction

They interacted with the teachers and pupils in their new environment and volunteered to teach Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and also offered career guidance and counselling.

Speaking during a visit to the African Faith Basic School, the Chief Executive Officer of tigo, Ms Roshi Motman, underscored the importance of quality teaching and learning and pledged that the company would continue to help create a conducive environment for teaching and learning in public schools in rural communities under its corporate social responsibility.

She said the schools received massive infrastructure support from tigo under its ‘Shelter 4 Education’ programme, with the Dimabi DA Basic School and the St Joseph School for Children with Special Needs, being renovated and furnished with teaching and learning materials.

The other four schools which were in makeshift structures each received fully furnished six-unit classroom block with staff common room, head teacher’s office and toilet facilities.
