An American teenager, Nicholas John, has presented some items to the pupils of Tamatoku Presby Basic Schools in Ada East District in the Greater Accra Region. The presentation formed part of John’s Eagle Scout Service Project, which gave him the opportunity to demonstrate leadership skills, while undertaking a project for the benefit of any school, religious institution, or any community.

The items, made up of  foot wears and socks, were donated through Nene Daitey Flika-Aggudey II, the Ada Traditional Area Makralo, who is a family friend of Nicholas John.

In a message to pupils of Tamatoku Basic Schools, John said as part of his  corporate social responsibility programme, the donation should restore self-confidence, give them high morale, motivation, and create opportunities for the pupils  to achieve high academic laurels.

John, who joined the boys scout in Auburn, Massachusetts, is embarking on several projects in and out of his country.

Nene Flika-Aggudey  urged the pupils to work hard  and emulate John’s gesture, stressing that “ I am certain that you will be happy to be mentioned one day here or elsewhere that you have also extended a helping hand to someone in need. This was how our ancestors lived with one another, which links our past with the present and the future”
