Speaking at the fourth matriculation ceremony of the African University College of Communication (AUCC) in Accra, he urged students to make positive decisions that would impact on their lives and also to attain quality and higher education.

Positive attitude

According to him, a positive attitude led to happiness and success and urged the students to cultivate the culture of personal development and take advantage of facilities available in the school to build their future career.

A total of 200 students, 140 offering Bachelor of Arts, and 60 offering Bachelor in Business, were matriculated.

Mr Akita said university education had become very necessary due to the increasing demand for quality education and competition in various sectors of the economy, stressing that the AUCC had, over the years, produced graduates who were serving in very sensitive areas of the economy.

Negative practices

He said the institution did not condone negative practices, including exams malpractices, and urged the students to follow laid down procedures, rules and regulations governing the college.

In a statement read on his behalf, Prof. Kweku Armah, the acting President of the university, reminded the students that they needed a good foundation for their growth and development, stressing that the university offered that opportunity.

He further reminded them to observe the rules and regulations of the university, obey and respect authority, comport themselves and maintain good manners, in addition to learning hard to reach the top.
