St Augustines College gets new Board

The Central Regional Director of Education, Mr Jacob Kor has asked Board of Governors of schools not to usurp the post of the headmasters. “The board members are not semi-headmasters,” he said.

He said the boards of schools must play effectively their roles in supporting the school administrations to efficiently administer the schools and not to usurp powers and control activities in the schools.

Mr Jacob Kor was speaking at the inauguration of a 14-member reconstituted Board of Governors of the St. Augustines College in Cape Coast.

He indicated that the boards of schools must help support and bring their expertise in helping to improve the infrastructural development in schools as well as help improve on the academic performance of the schools.

Mr Kor urged the board members to live above reproach and ensure that resources of the school were used judiciously.

He commended the past board members for their commitment to the development and wellbeing of the school, saying many great feats were chalked during their tenure and urged the new board to work hard to achieve more laurels for the school.

Rev. Father John Manso Hamilton, Chairman of the Board pledged the board’s commitment to work.
