At the national level, the school placed 24th per the rankings by the firm, involving 25 best second cycle schools in the country (both private and public), over a four-year period, from 2011 to 2015, which came out recently.

The ST James Seminary in the Brong Ahafo Region came first by scoring 99.22 per cent, with Saint Francis Xavier Jnr Seminary, Opoku Ware Senior High, Wesley Girls High School and Adisadel College placing second, third, fourth and fifth respectively.

At the JHS level, the Seven Great Princes also placed fifth among 595 public and private basic schools in the basic school rankings within that period.

The Assistant Headmaster of the school, Mr Johnson Odonkor, told the Daily Graphic that the vision of the school was to top all second cycle institutions in the country by 2020.

According to him, to achieve that goal, the school had instituted strategies to ensure that its core values, which are discipline, excellence, commitment, integrity and respect, were upheld.

He said the school also had intra and inter-class curricula activities and educational competitions to make students responsible and committed.

He also said the school had imbibed a sporting culture of organising periodic sporting events.

Mr Odonkor was quick to admit that the task was onerous but noted that with commitment, determination and perseverance, all would be achieved.

The school boasts illustrious former students including Black Stars Skipper Asamoah Gyan, and ace table tennis player Eric Amoah.
