The celebration, which coincided with a graduation and speech and prize-giving day, brought together students from sister schools, old students and dignitaries who were welcomed to the school compound with a colourful cultural and cadet display.

Speaking on the achievements of the school in his report, the headmaster of the school, Mr Emmanuel Ntow, said the school, which was established in October 1973 with 17 students, now had a population of over 1,000, in the kindergarten through to the junior high school.

He said the school had maintained a consistent academic excellence from the Common Entrance era to the current Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) period.

According to Mr Ntow, the achievements have laid a better foundation for current pupils and students of the school, which reflected in the performance of the students in the 2012 BECE examination, when all the 74 candidates presented by the school passed with distinction.

The guest speaker for the occasion, Mr Kwame Nyamekye, who spoke on the theme ‘’Inspiring 40 years of Academic Excellence... and still going strong’’, called on parents to leave a legacy that would have a positive impact on their children and people around them.

He said parents should try to instill the fear of God in their children and always stay connected with the family so that they would know what was happening around them.

He advised the students to make good use of the knowledge that had been imparted to them in a positive way so that they would grow into responsible adults.

He remarked: ‘’Every second of your life counts and as a young person, you should make use of every opportunity that comes your way, no matter how much it costs.’’
