‘Revisit partnership with churches in management of schools’

The government has been urged to revisit the former partnership arrangement with churches in the management of schools, to build solid educational foundation and morals.

Speaking at the launch of the 60th anniversary of the Wesley Grammar School in Accra, the Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church, Most Rev. Titus K. Awotwi Pratt, noted that prior to the 1960s, all church-related schools were exclusively administered by the churches and Christian formation had laid strong foundation with effective teaching that enabled schoolchildren to read and study the scriptures in their mother tongue, but this changed when the then government partially took control over the schools under the accelerated policy of the early 1960s.
