The bus is to ensure the smooth transportation of students and teachers on educational tours, field trips and other school activities outside the school.

Nafana SHS, one of the less-endowed schools in the country, was established in October, 1979 by the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) and the Nafana community but currently, it has been absorbed by the government.

Handing over the bus to the school authorities, the chairman of the PTA, Elder Charles Okrah, said the association decided to donate the bus to the school to reduce movement time to  improve on teaching and learning in the school.

He urged the school authorities to take good care of the bus to prolong its lifespan and advised the students to eschew all anti-social activities that could jeopardise their education and rather oncentrate on their studies.

The headmaster of the school, Mr Kofi Wiredu Sasah, who received the bus, thanked the PTA for the gesture and pledged that it would be used for the purpose for which it was donated to enhance academic work in the school.

Later in interaction with the Daily Graphic, Mr Sasah said the school did not have adequate infrastructural facilities and appealed to the government, corporate organisations and philanthropists to come to the aid of the school.

The headmaster also appealed for the construction of a girls’ dormitory and staff quarters.

He, further, appealed for an improvement in the roads and walkways of the school, explaining that anytime it rained, the entire school compound became muddy.
