PRESEC Old Students’ Association executive ushered into office
The new executive of the Presbyterian Senior High School (PRESEC) Old Students’ Association (Odadee) has been ushered into office with the election of Rev. Dr Ebenezer Markwei (Class of 78) as national president and Laud Koramoa (Class of 91) as vice president for a two-year term starting March 1, 2014.

Other members of the executive, who would be inaugurated on March 22, 2014 at the school’s assembly hall at Legon, are Regina Mawusi Yovonoo, secretary and director, women affairs, Nana Antwi Darkwa (Class of 76), global membership director, Nii Amaa Amarh 'Perchepe' (Class of 77) for membership mobilisation and Adja Nablah (Class of 78), director for finance.
The new executive takes over from the administration of Nii Okine Okantey, immediate past president of the national association.
In a brief remark, Rev. Dr Markwei indicated that his tenure would hinge on two pillars, fraternity and projects.
He said to promote the objective of fraternity, the association would continue to evolve events that would improve the bonds between the various year groups in respect of projects. It will focus on bringing new development initiatives and activities to enable the school to continue to fulfill its core mission of producing high quality, world-class students to “take our places in the future of our country and church".
The school was started in 1938 at Odumase Krobo with the first set of 16 boys and four teachers.
PRESEC quickly gained a reputation for the high quality of its students both academically and in sports.
An alumnus of the school is referred to as Odadee, which is the (baobab tree), a Ghanaian symbol of knowledge, resourcefulness and strength.
New students were traditionally initiated at the feet of this tree, clad in bedsheets and powdered faces.
Female students were admitted into its sixth form in small numbers in September 1975. They continued to be part of the student body till June 1996 when the last batch left. Female alumni are still referred to as Odadee.
