The group single-handedly refurbished the old assembly hall at a cost of GH¢150,000.

Mr Asare commended the 1988-91 year group and others who had in diverse ways assisted the school.

Akyempemhene

In a brief remark, the Akyempemhene of Kumasi, Oheneba Adusei Poku, expressed worry about the increasing rate of indiscipline among students in the country and called for urgent steps to address the problem.

Oheneba Poku, who is also an old student of the school, recounted their days at Prempeh College and said although the school did not have any fence, they dared not break bounds to go out.

Headmaster

The headmaster of the school, Mr Emmanuel K. Yeboah, was full of praise for the old students for their continuous support to the school and encouraged them to look at other areas of concern to the school for assistance.

He made a passionate appeal for the completion of the 2,400-capacity assembly hall and the 16-unit classroom block started in 2007, to ease the burden on the existing facilities.

He said the school’s infrastructure was put up for 800 students but the same infrastructure was being used by over 2,500 students.
