The donation, according to the group, was aimed at supporting the school’s administration in their continuous pursuit of quality education.

A delegation of the 1983 year group led by the President, Mr Michael Boadi Owusu, and the Director of Operations, Mr Maxwell Akwasi Poku, handed over the chairs at a short ceremony.

Making the presentation on behalf of the Group, Mr Owusu expressed the Group’s delight in coming together to mobilise support for its alma mater, stressing that such an initiative was key on the group’s agenda and it featured prominently, when members came together via the social media.

Influential people

“As a group, with members here in Ghana, UK, USA, Dubai and other areas, we deemed it appropriate to give back to the school that has nurtured us to be responsible and influential people in society.

We are aware the school needs expansion in its infrastructure facilities and we assure that, together with other year groups, we will contribute our quota towards the development of our alma mater with even bigger projects in mind,” he said.

He entreated current students to take their studies seriously and look up to the old students as role models to shape their future.

The Headmaster of the school, Mr Samuel Fordjour, who received the chairs, thanked the Group for the kind gesture observing that various year groups of the old students’ association have been supporting the school, and that also deserved commendation.

He gave an assurance that discipline would be maintained in the school to safeguard the school’s good name.
