The speech and prize-giving day was held on the theme: "Making a  Child Different in Discipline and Academics".

PAL International was started in 1998 as a nursery school to cater for the son of an expatriate Dutch employee of the then Sankofa Programme.

It started with two boys, three girls and one teacher, Mrs Hilda Delali Afreh, at its old site but now has an enrolment of 500 pupils, 20 teaching and six non-teaching staff.

In her report, the headmistress of the school, Mrs Afreh, said between 2007 and  2012, PAL had obtained 100 per cent passes each year.

On their challenges, she mentioned the irregular payment of fees by parents which was making the running of the school difficult.

Mrs Afreh also said the school bus was not in the best condition and appealed for assistance to acquire a new one.

She expressed regret that the access road to the school, which they constructed themselves, had now become a public route, a rubbish dump and a place of convenience for some unscrupulous people.

Mrs Afreh also appealed to the district assembly to assist them to tar the road.

The Member of Parliament for Akan, Mr Joseph Kwadwo Ofori , expressed happiness  with the progress of the school and products some of whom were now in  tertiary institutions in the country.

The MP, who is popularly known as ‘Wofa Pa Ye’, gave GH¢1,000.00 from his Social Intervention Fund and two computers with their accessories to help start an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) centre to enhance teaching and learning in the school.

The Kadjebi District Director of Education, Mr Augustus Awuku-Ansa, called for effective collaboration between parents and teachers to instil discipline in the pupils in order for them to become responsible citizens in the future.
