Osu Traditional Council to set up education fund

The Osu Traditional Council has decided to set up an education fund to cater for needy, brilliant schoolchildren at Osu in Accra.

Scheduled to be launched by the end of the year, the fund would also support children neglected by their parents due to poverty, to enable them to continue their education.

The Paramount Chief and President of the Osu Traditional Council, Nii Okwei Kinka Dowuona VI, announced this at the official launch of this year's annual Homowo Festival of the chiefs and people of the Osu Traditional Council.

Accelerated development

The celebration which is on the theme: "Harnessing all resources towards accelerated development for a better community," commences on August 15 with a health screening exercise. Other activities include a health walk, clean-up exercise, fun games, cooking contest, Homowo concert, annual ball and a thanksgiving service.
