That, he said, was to ensure that graduates from the school made a positive impact on society and the country at large.

“We are educating the children for life so that when they come out they can do something better for themselves and the country,” he said during an interaction with the media.

The Open Hearted Academy started from a wooden structure on September 9, 2000 with 15 students. Later, it moved into a storey building to give the children a conducive environment to study in.

The school now has a population of 780 students from the nursery through the kindergarten, and primary to the junior high school level.

The school is registered with the Ghana Education Service, Ghana National Association of Private Schools and the Registrar General’s Department.

Mr Okine said the first batch of students who wrote the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) were now in tertiary institutions in the country.

Since its establishment, he said, the school had produced six batches of BECE graduates who were making positive contributions in areas where they found themselves.

According to him, the school has quality teachers who provide the children with the kind of education that will transform their lives for the better.

Mr Okine said the fees the students paid were very moderate and, therefore, urged people living in and around Amanfrom to take advantage of the quality education the school was providing by sending their children there.

“People in the area keep wondering why we are charging very low fees even though our performance at the BECE is good,” he noted.
