The schools, Kankyiabo D/C and Ofoase AEDA primaries contested against four other schools each in their districts.

The schools that contested in the Juaboso District are Datano D/C Primary, Juaboso D/C Primary B, Ofoase AEDA, Amoaya Anglican Primary and Asempaneye Primary.

In the Agona East District, the schools were Asafo Aeda 'B' Primary, Otwekrom AEDA Primary, Kenyanko Catholic Primary,  Kankyiabo Primary and Duabone Catholic Primary.

The competition, which was organised by Nestlé Ghana in conjunction with the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the Nutrition and Food Science Department of the University of Ghana, Legon, was aimed at assessing the nutrition knowledge and behaviour of the pupils after the introduction of the Nestlé Healthy Kids’ Global programme in five schools each in the two districts.

The Nestle Healthy kids’ global programme is aimed at getting children to be active and acquire healthy eating habits to help maintain a healthy body weight.

The inter-schools’ quiz was on areas of nutrition, health and wellness, and according to the Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Manager of Nestle-Ghana, Mr Aaron Fenu, the areas that the quiz covered would help to advance the learning initiative of promoting the healthy lifestyle embedded in the programme.

The winning schools were presented with trophies, while each of the participating schools received exercise books, certificates, and plaques.

More than 4,000 schoolchildren from the Western and Central regions have benefited from the programme since it was first piloted in the Western Region.
