The items, including two sets of air conditioners, books and other educational materials, were handed over to the  authorities of the two schools by the Executive Director of the NGO, Dr Charles Dwamena.

The donation formed part of the organisation’s efforts  at improving teaching and learning at the schools, where the executive director obtained his basic education and also served as a teacher

Presenting the items to the school, Dr Dwamena said TAED Foundation’s main objective was to ensure sustainability in education, health care and democracy.

He said the organisation was basically into supporting schools through the provision of scholarships to brilliant but needy students, free health screening and care to people.

It also engages agencies such as the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) to promote civic education among Ghanaian youths.

Dr Dwamena, a China-based medical doctor, also announced that in September this year, TAED Foundation would be rolling out  a series of programmes such as mobile clinics for communities, launching of  Chinese literacy programmes as well as providing financial support to students in JHS and SHS schools within the Kwadaso communities.

Receiving the items, the headmistress of the school, Sister Mary Concepta Mensah, said the school was grateful to TAED Foundation for the donation, saying it would help improve learning in the school.

She said the school was embarking on expansion programmes and would require support, particularly in the areas of  information and communication technology (ICT) and a science laboratory, which posed serious challenges to the school.
