NGO promotes ‘Sponsor Kayayei to School’ programme

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Western Publications Limited, publishers of Daily Guide newspaper, Mrs Gina Ama Blay, has expressed her commitment to help promote the ‘Sponsor Kayayei to School’ programme.

The programme is being implemented by the Kunata Voluntary Organisation, an NGO that supports Kayayei through Pamela Bridgewater Project and is aimed at educating female porters and their children.

She made the promise when some members of the organisation visited her in her office to promote the programme. 

The ‘Sponsor Kayayei to School’ campaign aims at educating 2000 female porters by the end of 2016. 

Mrs Blay appealed to corporate institutions and individuals to support the Pamela E. Bridgewater Project. 

“I feel obliged as a mother to throw my weight behind this campaign to educate our children,” she added.

The Communications Director of the Pamela  Bridgewater Project, B.M Bulmuo, thanked Mrs Blay for using her platform to advance the interest of vulnerable women in the country.
