News report competition launched at GIJ

An annual simulated writing, reporting and presentation of news report competition has been launched at the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ). 

Dubbed “The Newsroom", the competition is open to all communication students of accredited communication universities and training institutions in the country and is being organised by Cheetah Communications Concept in collaboration with the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Institute of Public Relations-IPR Ghana and the Advertisers Association of Ghana (AAG).

The “Newsroom”

According to the Chief Executive Officer of Cheetah Communications, Mr Raymond Baxey, “The Newsroom” is designed to equip communication students with the relevant skills needed in the field of communication before getting into practice. It is also to promote high standards in communication studies. 

He added that “The Newsroom” also sought to encourage and award excellent interpretive, analytical, integrative and cre
