New classroom block for Ampia-Ajumako Methodist Primary School

The structure that serves as a school building for pupils of Ampia-Ajumako Methodist School in the Central Region has now become a death trap as it is waiting to collapse and claim the lives of teachers and over 500 pupils of the school.

The school block is in a very deplorable state as the pillars holding the entire building are worn-out and weak.

On a visit to the school, it was realized that it would be just a matter of time and the school building would collapse on the pupils.

Residents of Ampia-Ajumako in the Central Region have therefore called on government, to with immediate effect, address issues concerning the nature of classroom blocks in the community.

They fear the deplorable structures could collapse any time soon.

A few months ago, six pupils died in a school in the Central Region after their old school building collapsed on them.

Due to this, government gave a directive for the dismantling of every old school structure for the construction of new ones.

Because of this, the old 6-unit JSS classroom block of the Ampia-Ajumako Methodist School was brought down.

Making matters worse, the JSS pupils were then moved to a different structure.

As part its social responsibility, a philanthropist called Siisi Quano has opted to construct a 6-unit classroom block for the school.

The sod-cutting ceremony was done in collaboration with the Methodist Church.

Speaking at the event, the General Manager of Methodist Basic schools,Very Rev Naana Dan Nyame, expressed appreciation for the gesture.

He was full of praise and gratitude to Siisi Quano for their relentless support.
