Inaugurating the board, the Volta Regional Director of Education, Mr Emmanuel Keteku, commended the outgone board chaired by Mr A.M.K. Agrah for the diligent work done and expressed the hope that the incoming board would continue from where the outgone board had left off.

Mr Keteku also thanked the new board members for accepting the duty and charged them to approach the duty with all the commitment and seriousness it deserved, urging them to liaise with the old board members to facilitate their work.

The Headmaster of HAVETECH, Mr Jackson Mawunyo Affram, was grateful to the old board members and thanked them for their meritorious service to the school.

Mr Affram, who used the occasion to unveil a new uniform for the school, explained that the new uniform had become necessary because another school in the town was using the same material for its uniform.

Touching on major challenges facing the school, the headmaster expressed regret that there was no accommodation for the staff on campus and “this is a major challenge to instilling discipline in the students.”

Mr Affram called for the earliest solution to the problem and appealed that any contract for construction  works should be undertaken by the students to serve as a source of practical lessons for them.

He said another challenge was inadequate classrooms, noting that most of them were constructed by the students or the parent-teacher association (PTA).
