National Service postings to be released

Postings of prospective service personnel for 2014/2015 will be released at various centres on Friday, August 29, 2014, by the National Service Secretariat (NSS).

According to the Public Relations Officer of the NSS, Mr Ambrose Entsiwah Jnr, over 90,000 personnel would be posted by the NSS to serve in different organisations this year, adding that the the personal identification numbers (PIN) had already been released.

Parental influences

According to him, parental influence continued to hamper  the operations of the scheme and explained that the authorities were putting in place effective measures to help reduce the problem to ensure the smooth postings this year.

In an interview, Mr Entsiwah Jnr said accommodation, favourable working conditions and other social factors were issues that affected the postings but gave the assurance that the NSS was putting measures in place to ensure that accommodation was made available to personnel who would be posted to the rural areas.

Advice to incoming personnel

He asked the service personnel to exercise patience and accept places they had been posted to by the NSS as serving at such polaces would help them gain some valuable experiences.

Mr Entsiwah Jnr also advised the service personnel to attend the stakeholders’ conference, which would be held this month, to enable them to gain ideas to address their problems before the start of the service.
