MP donates books to Madina Education Directorate
The Member of Parliament for Abokobi-Madina, Alhaji Amadu B. Sorogho, has appealed to parents to take active interest in the education of their children to enable them to achieve academic excellence and become useful citizens.

He said education played a very important role in the socio-economic development of the nation, so parents must endeavour to help their children to achieve their aim.
Alhaji Sorogho said this when he donated 3,600 copies of ‘The Cock Crow’ textbooks, valued at GH¢40,000.00, to the La-Nkwantanang Madina Municipal Education Directorate at Madina in the Greater Accra Region on Thursday.
The ”The Cock Crow” is an English course book which has been recommended by the Ghana Education Service to be used in all junior high schools.
The books would be distributed to Form One students of both public and private junior high schools in the constituency.
Alhaji Sorogho urged the pupils to take their education seriously and tasked them to desist from indulging in acts which would be inimical to their studies.
He stated that he had instituted the "Best Teacher Awards" for primary, junior high, senior high and technical schools in the constituency as a way of motivating teachers to do their best to improve the quality of education in the constituency.
Alhaji Sorogho also urged teachers to take their work seriously and desist from absenteeism.
The Municipal Director of Education, Mrs Elizabeth Oduro Mensah, who received the books, thanked Alhaji Sorogho for his kindness and expressed the hope that the children would find the books useful.
