The IMC has Mr Eugene Dompey as its chairman.

Inaugurating the committee, the Controller of Apprentice of NVTI, Ms Juliana Nkrumah, said NVTI’s Board Policy to set up IMCs was to ensure sound management in the training institutions.

She said it was, therefore, expected that the IMC would function as a supervisory body to the institute’s management in all matters and ensure that there was a functional production and construction unit set up by all sections in the institute.

Innovative programmes

Moreover, she said, the IMC was to ensure that innovative programmes and projects were designed to improve the quality of training and generate sufficient revenue for the institute.

“Understanding your limits is essential for both the manager and all members of the committee. You should be able to balance your acts so that you shall not be seen to be usurping the role of the manager by sticking to your mandate,” Ms Nkrumah said.

The CMMTI Manager, Mr Emmanuel Ashie, said the structure of the school management committee under the idealistic system was designed to tap into the experience of professionals to bring their expertise from various fields to bear on the management of the institute.

“These members are perfectly placed to support and enhance the development of the institute,” he said.

Mr Dompey said it was important to note that educating the youth demanded bright and hardworking individuals, adding that the members were committed to ensuring that the institute delivered to the expectation of all.
