The school of technology, which will commence in September this year, will train workers in all Microsoft programmes, which include Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.

The school will also train students in  professional database management, word developers, word explorers, visualisation and other Microsoft programmes leading to the award of certificates and diplomas in digital literacy, Microsoft Office Expert, Microsoft Technology Associate, Microsoft Office Core, Microsoft Office Master and Microsoft Certified IT Professional.

The agreement between Marshalls University and Microsoft was signed at a ceremony in Accra when Mr Jan Day, a representative of Microsoft, US Certiport, which issues Microsoft certificates, visited Ghana for the accreditation of Marshalls University.

According to the President of Marshalls University College, Mr Tetteh Nettey, the decision to partner Microsoft was necessitated by the institution’s desire to improve the country’s human resource.

For his part, Mr Godwin Botchway, the Principal Consultant of Skills Matrix, said, “this union with Marshalls as our training and testing centre is to provide learning and certification for digital literacy skill. “
