The applications (Apps), which are designed to give students access to online facilities of both institutions, are for the Marshalls Music Club, the J.S. Addo Scholarship Foundation, Marshalls Online Radio, Meridian Pre-University Apps and the Marshalls Apps.

Features

Among other things, the Marshalls App has features that allow students to access their mails, academic calendar, examination timetable and check their results using smart devices.

According to the Chairperson of the Apps Committee, Mrs Prudence Armah, the launch of the mobile applications “will usher us into a new era towards the realisation of the vision and mantra of our relatively young institution”.

Significance

“To us at Marshalls, this feat is extremely significant as it embodies our core objective and vision as an academic institution. One major objective of ours is to become an Ivy League university within nine years,” she said.

That objective, she said, among other things, drove the Marshalls University to work towards producing the next generation of world class leaders from its lecture halls and beyond.

Launching

Launching the applications, the Head of Department of the School of Technology of Marshalls University, Mr Amartey Botchway, commended the President of the Marshalls University College, Mr Tetteh Nettey, for his foresight in transforming the two institutions.

He said the applications were designed to enable students to access whatever information they wanted from whatever location.

He reminded the students that they would be better people if they used technology for education.

Educational tools

Mr Botchway said a lot of educational tools had been made available on the applications, and asked the students to make maximum use of them for their educational development.

“The issues are very clear, this university and its management are seeking to move you forward as it should within the 21st century. It is up to you to appreciate the efforts being made and more importantly to take advantage of it for your future benefit,” he told the students.
