Legon rewards hard-working students

The University of Ghana has awarded 30 students with various prizes for their outstanding performance in their area of studies during the 2012/2013 academic year.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Prof. Ernest Aryeetey, stated that the award of academic prizes to students was part of the university’s annual activities.

He acknowledged the support of the various donors and sponsors for the awards ceremony and appealed to prospective stakeholders to help sponsor the awards scheme.

Prof. Aryeetey congratulated the award winners and advised them to reach greater heights with the knowledge gained at school.

He also commended the parents of awardees for their essential roles in ensuring the academic development of their children.

The Pro. Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Prof. Kweku Osam,  said the  students who excelled in their respective courses would be recognised and awarded.

He also stated that the various award categories were named after the sponsoring institutions and individuals and encouraged other stakeholders to consider sponsoring other awards.
