Kumasi Senior High Technical School gutted in dawn blaze

Fire Wednesday dawn gutted the chop box room of the girls’ dormitory of the Kumasi Senior High Technical School at Patase in Kumasi.

Items including books, trunks, chop boxes, provisions, dresses and other personal belongings were destroyed by the 3am fire.

Speaking to Graphic Online, the Assistant Headmaster, Mr Issah Ibrahim said about 25 of the girls who were trying to escape from the blaze which was close to their staircase got injured in the melee and were on admission at the First Care Hospital receiving treatment for minor injuries.

He added that teachers and male students on campus were able to quench the fire with some available fire extinguishers before the arrival of firefighters.
