Making the presentation, the Head of Audit of KPMG, Mr Anthony Sarpong, underscored the importance of education in national development and said the gesture was part of KPMG’s social responsibility to help improve the educational system of the country.

The gesture, according to him, was also to encourage students to invest in their societies when they grow up  stressing that investment in education was crucial because one of the ways to empower people was to invest in their education.

“We need to continue to motivate and inspire the confidence of our young people and also to create avenues that empower them. If we do that we can then have the comfort that we are building a nation and a generation that can take over from us,” he said.

Appeal

The Headmistress of the school, Mrs Stella Tsekpo, thanked KPMG for the gesture and appealed to other organisations to come to their aid.

She said the donation would help the school, with a population of 400 and established in 1978, to achieve its goal of becoming an excellent institution for the training of hundreds of students.
