KNUST signs pact with two institutions

Dr Peter Ohene Kyei (left), Rector of Pentecost University College, after the agreement.The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Pentecost University College for  a collaboration between the two institutions at a ceremony in Kumasi.
The pact would enable the Pentecost University College to offer quality education in the programmes of Quantity Survey and Construction Economics and Construction Technology Management at the college in Accra.

Prof. W. O. Ellis, the Vice Chancellor of KNUST, signed for the university, while Rev Dr Peter Ohene Kyei, Rector of the Pentecost University College also initialled for the college.

This brings to 24, the number of private tertiary institutions affiliated to the KNUST.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Ellis encouraged affiliate universities to take advantage of KNUST’s sandwich programmes to build the capacity of their faculty members and also make efforts to assist faculty members to upgrade their competencies and skills for effective teaching and research work.

He said the affiliation with the Pentecost University College was not for financial benefits but rather to strengthen and ensure the maintenance of high academic standards.

Rev. Dr  Ohene Kyei stated that his college would continue to admit qualified students to make the college a centre of excellence.

Earlier in the day, the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology signed a similar agreement for collaboration with the Accra Polytechnic.

The Accra Polytechnic is in partnership with the KNUST to run degree programmes in building technology, automobile and civil engineering.
