K-Poly reopens Friday

The Kumasi Polytechnic will re-open on Friday, September 5, 2014.

The decision was arrived at after a crucial meeting of the Academic Board of the school, which also agreed that examinations would commence on September 22, 2014.

Briefing the Daily Graphic on campus, the Rector, Professor Nicholas N. N. Nsowah-Nuamah said the academic period would be completed on October 8, 2014.

Polytechnic teachers under their umbrella organisation, the Polytechnic Teachers Association of Ghana (POTAG) have been on a three month strike over a decision by government not to pay their book and research allowance.

POTAG and the government recently reached an agreement which culminated in the termination of the industrial action.
