That, she said, coupled with high educational background would position the students to take up leadership roles in future and help develop the country.

Ms Nertey was speaking to the media in Accra during Fun Games organised by the school as part of activities marking its 20th anniversary. It was attended by the students, parents, teachers and former students of the school.

The occasion was also used to donate blood and check the health status of  the public. Other activities included Lime and Spoon race, sack race, cultural performances, 100 metres competition.

Ms Nertey said while teachers were instilling good qualities in children, it was incumbent on parents also to ensure that they provided good guidance and direction to complement what the teachers had done.

She said providing the needs and paying the school fees of the children were not the only responsibilities of the parents but they must show keen interest in the education and wellbeing of their children.

The cardinal principle of Happy Kid School is to provide total education for the students to make them assertive and well-prepared to face the future and take up leadership positions in the world of work, she said.

Ms Nertey said the school decided to bring all stakeholders of the school to the playground as a means of creating a platform outside the officialdom for teachers and parents to interact in an informal manner.

She added that the school decided to add blood donation to the activities as a means to ensure that the hospitals were stocked with enough blood to cater for emergency and also not to be found wanting in future whenever any of the donors was in dire need of blood donation.
