Help solve graduate unemployment - Radford varsity chairman tells universities

The Chairman of the Radford University College (RUC), Nana Dwomoh Sarpong, has re-echoed the need for universities in the country to run courses that will help solve the country’s graduate unemployment problem.

He said the solution to the problem depended “on the programme you are running and the courses that are available for the students as well as the direction for the students by training them to set up their own businesses”.

Speaking in an interview in Accra, Nana Sarpong said graduates had tended to rely too much on the government for the provision of white collar jobs that were non-existent.

Selecting right courses

He pointed out that, since universities in the country ran various courses, it was up to parents and guardians to advise their wards to choose the right courses or programmes, indicating that, the universities should not be blamed if parents failed to do that.
