Very Rev. Mrs Dor gave the advice when she presented school uniforms to pupils of the Azza Municipal Authority Basic Schools in the Nkurakan Circuit in the Yilo Krobo Municipality.

The headmistress, was in the Azza community recently on an assignment and saw some school-age children loitering in the village with the excuse that they had no school uniforms.

She said some of the pupils said though they had school uniforms, they were torn and their parents could not provide them with new ones, a situation she described as pathetic.

Very Rev. Mrs Dor said she was, therefore, touched by the plight of such needy children and decided to help them with  school uniforms to enable them to go to school.

She promised to make follow up visits and supply exercise books and other learning materials to the pupils occasionally.

The Nkurakan circuit supervisor of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Mr Kwame Benjamin, who represented the municipal director, was full of praise for the headmistress and promised to supervise the distribution of the uniforms to the needy children in order to serve the intended purpose.

Ms Dinah Teye, the assistant headteacher of the school, who received the items on behalf of the school, said a lot of children were willing to be in school but school uniforms and other learning materials were their major problems.
