Gold Coast Securities supports schools with GH¢ 200,000

As part of its 20th anniversary celebration,  Gold Coast Securities Limited has earmarked an amount of GH¢200,000 to support education, healthcare delivery and security in the country.

The Brong Ahafo Region is to receive GH¢6,000 out of the amount.

Gold Coast Securities Limited, in its quest to assist in improving the quality of education, has supported some selected basic schools in the Brong Ahafo Region with government approved assorted textbooks.

Among the beneficiary basic schools is the St Thomas R/C Primary and Junior High School at Fiapre in the Sunyani West District, which was presented with textbooks.

Mr Samuel Kofi Ampah of Gold Coast Securities Limited announced that  the company was considering setting up a scholarship package to support the best Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidate from the school as a source of encouragement to other pupils.

The Catholic Priest in charge of the school, Monsignor Kwame Kumi, commended the company for its support and said the donation was very timely, as it would promote effective teaching and learning.

The Public Relations Officer of the Brong Ahafo Catholic Education Unit, Mr James Boakye Yiadom, entreated the teachers and pupils to make good use of the books.

The Girls’ Prefect of the school, Ms Hannah Akurugu, on behalf of the pupils, thanked the benefactors for the support and assured them that the pupils would make good use of the textbooks.
