The ceremony was attended by lecturers of the institute, chief executive officers, President of the National Union of Ghana Students, Mr Michael Paa-Quency, as well as the Chairman of Bechem United, Mr Kingsley Owusu Achau and Mr Charles Aryeh, Director of the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence.

The new President of the SRC, Mr Samuel Anim Addo, in his acceptance speech thanked the students for giving him the mandate to serve, and promised to work hard to seek their interest and also to build a great leadership legacy.

He stated that there was a great task ahead, and therefore the new executive needed the full support of all students to realise their vision of championing the cause of students through hard work, selflessness and integrity.

Vision

"I observed that all the contestants spoke of their vision for GIMPA. In effect, there was no candidate who didn't have something to offer when given the chance," he noted.

Mr Paa-Quency in a speech expressed concern about the low intake of students in the sciences at public universities.

The President of the outgoing SRC, Mr Clement Yeboah, in an address, expressed the hope that the new administration would continue with projects initiated during the tenure of the old executive.

The other executive members of the SRC are Mr Samuel Michael Kwabena Amoah, Vice President, Ms Ofosua Yeboah, Secretary, Ms Angelina Atuobi, Treasurer, and Ms Kafui Seshie, Women's Commissioner.
