The beneficiary institutions are the Kaslin Senior High School, KAS SHS, DeYoungsters International School and the Anmchara SHS.

The rest are the Jubilee SHS, Masters School, Perfect SHS, First Afternoon SHS and Vitac SHS.

The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo, presenting the laptops to the schools, said the country's quest to become a fully-fledged middle income nation in the not-too-distant future and the need to develop the human capital could not be underestimated.

"This explains why the government is providing the necessary logistics and infrastructure to our children in the schools to enable them to develop their potentials to the benefit of the country," he said.

Interventions

The Greater Accra Regional Minister said in addition to the provision of  infrastructure, the government had also made certain interventions which included the distribution of free school uniforms and exercise books, and an increase in the number of schools benefitting from the school feeding programs.

The Greater Accra Regional Director of Education, Mrs Elizabeth A. Desouza, said the beneficiary schools were selected to replace some defunct schools whose names were on the list.

She said last year, 1,235 laptops were distributed to 115 schools made up of 68 private schools and 47 public schools.
