At a ceremony to hand over the buses, the Tamale Branch Manager of the bank, Mr Daniel Amponfi-Duku, said the presentation was in line with the bank’s corporate social responsibility to assist the university to achieve its mandate of delivering quality education.

He said the gesture was in response to a demand made to the bank through the university’s Students Representative Council (SRC), and added that the university would be given a maximum period to pay for the buses.

Mr Ampofi-Duku, therefore, expressed the hope that the four buses would help to augment the pressure on the few buses of the university, thereby lessening the ordeal students go through in accessing the university's buses.

Appreciation

Receiving the buses on behalf of the university, the Dean of Students, Professor Israel Dzomeku, expressed the gratitude of both the university’s management and the S.R.C to the bank for the gesture.

He said the buses would address the transportation needs of the university and also commended the bank for its continued support to the development of the university.

The Tamale Campus SRC President of the university, Mr Dary Bawa Tahiru, gave an assurance that the university would use the buses for their intended purpose.
