First female polytechnic rector inducted into office

The Koforidua Polytechnic has inducted the first female polytechnic rector in the country into office. Professor Smile Gavua Dzisi was sworn in as the fourth rector by the chairperson of the Governing Council of the Koforidua Polytechnic, Professor Esther Sakyi-Dawson at an impressive ceremony which attracted people from all walks of life.

Born on June 18, 1971, Prof. Dzisi has worked with the polytechnic over the past 16 years.

In her maiden address, she paid glowing tribute to the late Dr Henry Appiah, a former rector of the polytechnic for believing in her and contributing significantly to make her what she is today.

VISION

On her vision for the Koforidua Polytechnic, she mentioned six areas, namely; transparent governance and management, staff development welfare, ICT-driven quality teaching learning and research, attractive programmes, innovation and entrepreneurial culture.
