Effiduase Senior High old students support alma mater

The Accra Chapter of the Old Students Association of the Effiduase Senior High Commercial School in the Ashanti Region has presented 20 computers and accessories and five power stabilisers to its alma mater to enhance the teaching and learning of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).

Speaking to the students during the presentation, a member of the association, Ms Abena Bemponwaa Amponsah, said the donation was part of activities to mark the official inauguration of the Accra Chapter of the association.

She advised the students to make effective use of the computers for the acquisition of knowledge for their future development.

Making the presentation on behalf of the association, its President, Mr Emmanuel Opoku, said the association intended to undertake some projects to improve on the infrastructural development of the school.

He said the projects included the construction of a sick bay and supply of laptop computers and projectors to facilitate teaching and learning in the school.

The Headmaster of the school, Mr Akwasi Amoako Amoantwi, who received the computers, lauded the effort of the old students.

He said the major challenges facing the school were lack of accommodation and an  accessible road network and, therefore, appealed to the association and philanthropists to come to the aid of the school.

He also called on other alumni members to emulate the example of the Accra Chapter of the association, indicating that the school could achieve little without the support and generous contribution from them.
