So far, a total of GH¢510,119 has been spent on scholarships to the 1,609 beneficiaries.

Get-together

At this year's annual get-together at the Abanpredease Palace at Dormaa Ahenkro, Osagyefo Agyeman Badu noted that the best legacy that could be bequeathed to children in the area was an investment in their education.

He said chiefs in the country had the responsibility to use a chunk of their wealth to cater for the education of the brilliant, needy students in their traditional areas.

Osagyefo Agyeman Badu said it was his mission to promote quality education in the Dormaa Traditional Area and called on parents to invest in the education of their children instead of spending on social activities.

Out of the 100 students who received scholarships during the ceremony, 58 are in tertiary institutions while the remaining 42 are in senior high schools.

Osagyefo Agyeman Badu urged the beneficiary students to justify the investment being made in their education by also investing their time and energies in their books in order to achieve higher academic laurels.

He added that Dormaaman expected them to go out there as ambassadors of the area by using their knowledge to help their families and the entire society in the future.

Beneficiaries

On behalf of the beneficiaries, Miss Matilda Nketia Pokuaah of the University for Development Studies thanked the Dormaahene for his gesture.

She pledged that they would work hard to achieve their academic aspirations in order to justify the investment being made in their education.
