Mr Boateng, who was speaking at a home-coming programme at Nkawkaw in preparation for the 45th anniversary of the school, said “KAWSEC was founded on the vision of hard work and not deceit, which only gives a short-term success. The founding father of our school the Right Reverend Victor Buer Nartey Tokoli inculcated in us honest and the can do spirit”.

Mr Boateng, who deputised for the Chairman of the Association, Brigadier General Yeboah Murphy, asked the students to learn hard in order to be of service to the nation.

Mr Daniel Owusu-Koranteng , General Secretary of the Maritime and Dockworkers’ Union and an Executive Member of the  Association, asked the students to acquire the  values of patriotism, hard work and honesty, in addition to the acquisition of technical knowledge, adding, “the labour market has become very competitive and you  will need the right attitudes to add up to the  technical knowledge and skills to achieve excellence.”

Mrs Stella Agyenim-Boateng , a Director of Human Resource of Vodafone, Ghana and the General Secretary of  the  Association,  appealed to the students  to use their school days to build the foundations for their careers.

She appealed to the girls to avoid behaviour that would prevent them from developing themselves into useful citizens.

The Association presented 50 bags of cement towards the construction of a sickbay/clinic for the school that it has pledged to fund.

Mr Patrick Yeboah Agyekum, Assistant Headmaster (Administration) of the School who received the cement and other items, thanked the Old Students for the love they had been showing towards their alma-mater.

Activities lined up for the home-coming include a football match between the Old Students and the current students, counseling and mentoring sessions and a clean-up exercise.
