The assembly, with support from the Methodist Education Unit, has secured a temporary place for some of the pupils, pending the completion of the project, which is expected to eliminate the shift system.

The one-storey classroom block, being constructed at an estimated cost of GH¢600,000, with funds from the District Development Fund (DDF), would be completed in two years and is expected to help end the shift system in the town

Speaking at the ceremony, chaired by the Edubiasehemaa, Nana Akua Dwum II, the DCE said the government would not relent its effort to provide quality education for the people, indicating that the assembly was undertaking a number of classroom projects in the district, some of which were completed, while others were ongoing.

The Member of Parliament for New Edubiase, Mr Ernest Kofi Yakah, praised the assembly for initiating the project and said he would support teaching and learning at the school through the supply of tables and chairs.

The Methodist Bishop of Obuasi Diocese, Rt Rev. Stephen R. Bosomtwi-Ayensu, who graced the occasion, called on parents and guardians to invest in the education of their children and also supervise them at home to learn.
